Francesca Carter
Francesca Carter was born and raised in San Diego, CA. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College where she concentrated in film, journalism, and psychology. She has been making films since she was in her high school's film conservatory. There, she made a film called Branded, an experiential awareness film on sex trafficking. At age 18, she co-founded a film business, creating films for a local television station and small businesses. She came to Columbia Journalism School to hone her video storytelling skills. She hopes to pursue short and long form video storytelling and eventually own her own documentary film company. Francesca became interested in telling this story after writing several articles on disabilities, from Disabilities and Sex Education to Dyslexia and Learning to Read. She also has a background in acting and is excited to tell the stories of actors who are passionate about their craft.
